A Few Things

It's Christmas time!!!  And our tree is amazing!  This picture doesn't do it justice.

This ornament is my parents', but they let me have it because I love it so much.  Thanks, Mom and Dad!

I love our new ornament we picked up in Solvang.  It's pink and sparkly.  Of course I love it.

These showed up under the tree.  I'm pretty sure they are for me and not T.

Yesterday was gorgeous - 85 degrees in town and 75 degrees at the beach.  We went to Venice Beach, which we are adding to the list of things you can skip when you visit SoCal.  We saw street basketball players, skateboarders, body builders, and a grafitti wall.

But none of these things were spectacular.  Mostly we saw crappy tourist shops, degenerates, and people pushing medical marijuana.  The entire boardwalk was just full of dirty people.  I'm not just talking about homeless people (though there were many) - everyone there seriously lacked basic hygiene skills.  I hope these people don't get in the water, they would pollute the ocean.  Venice just had such an all around dirty feel to it.  Venice Beach is the last beach I would want to go to.  For the record, my favorite beach is Marina Del Rey.

After walking the boardwalk, we walked by the Venice Canals.  Most of the canals have been covered and some existing ones are pretty gross, but there are some really gorgeous stretches of houses along some parts.  It was a very different vibe.

Last night the sunset was amazing!  This one kinda looks like the apartments are on fire...
