L.A. Flower Market

Six days before T and I left SoCal we went to the L.A. Flower Market.  And it is AMAZING!  I wish we had gone sooner so we could have gone often.  If you're visiting L.A. you should definitely go.  And if you live in L.A. you should definitely go often.

It's only $2 per person to get in. I think it's only $1 if you go during the week.  The flowers are SO cheap and SO beautiful!  Really, I couldn't get over it.  Two giant buildings just full of gorgeous flowers.  We only had T's iphone to take pictures with.  Next time we will know better.  The flowers are just so lovely!

I'm not a fan of this flower mixture, but just look at how many flowers you can get for $15!  A whole bucket's worth!

These gerbera daisies were so violently colorful they almost looked fake.  So wonderful!

These perfect white roses were $12 for a bunch of 25!!!  That's ridiculous!  We went to the flower market around 11 (which is just one hour before they close) and they still had all these fantastic looking flowers left.  I wonder how great the flowers are that are sold at 6 a.m.... I'm guessing pretty great because a lot of stalls were completely sold out for the day and were in the process of cleaning up by the time we showed up.

Check out all the colors of carnations!

The hydrangea bunches were so large.  That's three ginormous stems for $6!

I know this picture is blurry, but it was astounding how many orchids there were in one space.

Gah!  More beautiful and huge hydrangea!  I die!

I was bummed out that we couldn't buy any because we had plans after the flower market and plus all of our vases were already packed.  Mostly I'm bummed that we didn't discover the flower market earlier.  Can you say awesome (and cheap) birthday / anniversary / whatever presents?!  For the rest of my life I'm definitely going to have a hard time paying more money for flowers that don't look as great as the ones at the L.A. flower market.

If you're in L.A. definitely check it out and definitely plan to buy some gorgeous flowers.

  1. A few years ago I started caring more about flowers than veggies in the garden! Those are gorgeous!

  2. I think flower gardens are much more fun than vegetable gardens, too! I probably get it from you! But there should be some tomatoes in there somewhere...
