21. "The Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger 214 pages
It was...good. In a very strange sort of way. I totally get Holden's feelings on people who are phony. Ina non-crazy sort of way. Sometimes I found Holden's flow of consciousness very interesting and
informative as much for the things he was not thinking as the things he was thinking. It's a very different
sort of novel. Though, if you've read the book, you very much already know that.

23. "Untouchable" by Kate Brian 236 pages
A run of the mill private school mystery. Okay, not great.

24. "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw 175 pages
This was my first time reading "Pygmalion" though I have seen "My Fair Lady" many times. I wassurprised (though I shouldn't have been) that the musical's dialogue is almost exactly the same as the
original play's. It seemed to me that the musical has more character development because it actually
shows Eliza becoming a lady and the men becoming attached to her. In the play it just jumps from Eliza's
first day with Higgins to tea with Higgins' mother to the ball. I also read the short sequel to "Pygmalion"
by Shaw. I didn't like it. But the actual play I thought was quite excellent.
25. "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas 509 pages
Holy not the same as the movie, Batman! The book and the movie have a similar story line: an innocentman is sent to prison, gets out, gets a fortune, and looks for revenge. But the details and many major plot
points are not even close. The book and the movie are two completely different stories. Both are good
stories, though.
26. "Uglies" by Scott Westerfeld 425 pages
I have heard good things about this book and it's sequel "Pretties." It was mostly entertaining, but I also
felt like it was sort of slow. I am more interested in the back story of the "Rusties" than the main plot, if
that tells you anything.
27. "Confessions" by Kate Brian 232 pages
The sequel to "Untouchable." I read "Confessions" because I had to know who did it.
