Hollywood

T and I played tourist and went to Hollywood.  For those of you who don't know, Hollywood isn't the best part of town.  Going there reminded me how much I love the town we live in - it's much nicer.  I felt safe because I had T and it was daytime and there were lots of other tourists around, but it is not a place to be at night alone on a side street. We still had a good time, though!

It's hard to tell, but these two stars belong to Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.
It's noticeable because this stretch of stars is all in a straight line except for Kyra's - so she could be next to Kevin's.
I think it's adorable.  Hence the heart hands and ridiculously ecstatic grin.
I call this the "Summer in Nantucket" look, by the way.

Mr. Bacon has some good advice on how to have a successful marriage:
"Keep your fights clean and your sex dirty."

I enjoyed recognizing the names on stars way too much while we were walking.  The only star I sought out was Audrey's.  You know why.  It's because she is one of the classiest ladies who ever lived.

Also because I think that Audrey was ridiculously wise:
"I believe in pink.
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

Really, who doesn't love Audrey?!

P.S.  I'm pretty sure Audrey meant to say "and I believe in Christmas miracles."  :)

While we were walking to Audrey's star we ran into one of our friends K!  He was taking his son B to swimming lessons at the nearby YMCA.  It was great to have a little chat with him.  We love that family.

The building is supposed to look like a stack of records, but to me it always looks like a stack of stupid.
But to each their own, I suppose.

These guys got a star in the shape of a circle for just one event.

Harry Potter stars' hand and footprints outside Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Johnny Depp's square at Grauman's.  I wish they would have imprinted his beard from "Pirates" as well...

The front of Grauman's.  I went there with T and his friend different T freshman year.  We saw "The Medallion" with Jackie Chan.  It was horrible.  But when I bought the ticket for it I just about died.  It was almost $25!!!  But then I realized that the ticket girl charged me for two tickets because she thought T and I were together and I was buying his ticket.  So at that point T and I were still pretty clueless about each other romantically, but the ticket girl already knew...

William Shatner's star!

In green letters it says "The"  so the name of the theater is "The El Capitan Theater."  Yeah.

In the very distance you can make out the Hollywood sign...

T happened to take a picture of me at the Kodak Theater just as this piano fell in a perfectly straight manner from the sky.

I'm friends with a Samurai!  Somewhere there is a picture of me from freshman year from the same night as "The Medallion" doing this exact same thing.

We also went to Amoeba music since it was pretty close.  I was very underwhemed by it.  It's organized incredibly well, but everything was old and it kinda reminded me of Goodwill.  There are also tons of people there pretending to be super cool music snobs.

Anyway, we had a lovely time playing tourist and plan to do it again soon.
Except, you know, at a different tourist-y location.
